This year London will host the World Para Athletics Championships and the IAAF World Championships back to back for the first time in history. To celebrate the historic year of athletics in the UK, England Athletics have created Team Personal Best.
Team Personal Best is the public facing brand of the London 2017 Inspiration Programme, which includes 11 different projects over 5 different strands, Disability, Community, Volunteers, Schools and International.
As the "heroes return” to the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park on the 14th July, the first day of the hugely anticipated World Para Athletics Championships, England Athletics will be hosting a disability summit.
We are inviting influential coaches, leaders, officials, teachers and athletes who strive to make a difference in disability sport and make athletics more inclusive.
Fittingly the title of the summit will be “Innovative approaches to improving experiences of disabled people in athletics and running in the UK”
Attendees will witness inspiring speakers, workshops and learning, throughout the day and with this in mind, go away to their local communities and imbed what they have learnt.
After a day of inspiration and inclusivity what a better way to finish off than watching the heroes compete at the London Stadium. As a thank you to the attendees for their continued support in inclusive athletics, Team Personal Best will be inviting all delegates to the first session of the World Para Athletics Championships that evening.
Do you know someone who is making a positive difference and promoting inclusivity in your club, running group, community or organisations?
Would they benefit from a day of learning and discussion?
